Microsoft Bing Vs. Google - Search Engine Wars

Microsoft Bing Vs. Google - Search Engine Wars

I recently have been playing with Microsoft's newest search engine, Bing. There were a few thing that i noticed that it has over Google. I also noticed a few major things that made it less formidable than Google. Let's start with the positives. Bing does auto correct any spelling errors that you make as opposed to asking you if you "Meant to look for " something. When looking for videos, the results come up in a grid arrangement of images, as you run your mouse over the result images, the video will start playing right there, no redirecting to where the video is hosted. AWESOME!!!! The look and feel was more user interactive than Google. Now for the things that made it a few steps short of Google. If you use services like Blogger, or any other Google based software, you will have a hard time using these services. For example, Google chrome allows for direct Blogging from a website without having to go to your Blog site, via the use of The Blogger service i can post a blog from within the browser. Bing does not allow you to do this. The results that Google pulls up are much more numerous that that of Bing. This can be both a good thing and a bad thing. If you are looking for something specific Google is going to pull up way more than you need. It also makes the time it takes to display the results a little bit longer. Not that you will have to go and get a cup of coffee, but it will take a moment of two longer. However this does afford you the option to search for the best information for you, as you see fit.
Over all I think both are good, but each for its own reasons. I am going to continue to use Google, but will continue to check Bing out, as they mature, to see if they move into Google's territory.

Linux….To switch or not to switch. That is the question.

UBUNTU

So now that the semester comes to a close, my sole need for windows is a little less important, as i will not need Visual studio on a regular basis I have starting thinking that i might make the official switch to Ubuntu.  However there is one major factor that is stopping me from switching completely to linux is that the Video is very much less than stellar, and still no near where near that of Windows.  If Ubuntu could get the level of the webcam software and video up to the level that windows is at, it might just sway my vote almost totally toward Linux.  I would still need Visual Studio on occasion, so i couldn’t totally get rid of Windows.

LINUX?????

Signs>>>

Do you believe in signs?  Like when there are a bunch of things that go wrong with one scenario, and it just seems like something is telling you something.  I don’t  believe in signs but there seems to be many things acting as speed bumps while I attempt to finalize the details with the car.  What do you think, do you believe in signs??

Car search

I have spent the majority of my free time in the last week attempting to procure a new vehicle.  I have come to the conclusion that unless you are wealthy, or your parents work for GM, the system that is in place now makes it impossible for an average guy to get a good car at a reasonable price.  What is this about?  you need a car to get to work to make money, however you need money to get the car to make the money.  In most cases you need A LOT of money to get the car.  Is it just me or does this seem a little counterproductive?  I mean really, what does an average guy have to to to get a decent car, at a good price?  I almost feel like im just not supposed to have a car.  Really?  Have I not earned at least that much.  I think the system is effed, and its time for an overhaul!!!!
